Turkish State visit to Denmark

President of Turkey, H.E. Abdullah Gül is paying an official visit to Denmark upon the invitation of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II.

President Gül and Queen Margrethe II had tete-a tete chairing the meetings between the delegations. Moreover, President Gül participated in Trade and Investment Forum organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and its Danish counterpart as well as met with Turkish and Danish businessmen at a working lunch.
Speaking at the official dinner that Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik hosted in his honor at the Amalienborg Palace, President Gül shared his happiness to be visiting Denmark, which is known as “the land of happy people” on the occasion of the first ever state visit.

The dress in question here is this. Something new, and something unexpected

If you are wondering if you have seen int previously - well, you have - even if it was in a bit of a different styling. The dress was made by Australian designer Carla Zampatti and was created especially for Mary's photo shoot for Australian Women's Weekly. It's a custom version of a gown from the designer's existing collection, done in pale pink brocade and without the high-low hemline variation for this state dinner.

Princess Mary even wore some of the same accessories as for the photo shoot. Namely the bracelets Mary wore for the first time for Princess Madleine's wedding. Because it is a custom creation we don't really know the price, or if Princess Mary was able to keep all the dresses from the photo shoot as a present.

But even if she had to pay for those gowns - Mary almost stumbled on the dress' hem walking from the car onto the red carpet - it is a special privilege to have a princess as advert for a designers new clothes.

Princess Mary paired the dress with new fabulous Gianvito Rossi Shoes, which seem to become a staple in her wardrobe

Gianvito Rossi “mesh-trimmed Suede Pumps”  = $741

Annikat "Wing Cuff" White gold  = $20,489.49 / per cuff

Even though a great dress, I would not have chosen it for the princess. She is of mature age and the dress is a bit to girly for my taste. But that is just my opinion.

I chose a bit of a sleeker version

Princess Mary dines with Chelsea Clinton in New York

The Crown Princess and Ms. Clinton discussed a number of issues pertaining to their respective work for global health, empowerment and rights, with particular focus on women, children and vulnerable groups.

The Crown Princess is in New York again on the occasion of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in her capacity as patron of UNFPA and Maternity Worldwide and member of the High Level Task Force for ICDP.

The Crown Princess is active in creating awareness on global maternal health and child mortality issues and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including access to family planning. She has travelled with NGO’s and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on various visits to countries challenged by these issues. In 2007, The Crown Princess founded The Mary Foundation with the mission of fighting social isolation, based on the belief that “everyone has the right to belong”. Under her leadership, the foundation brings together untraditional key partners to develop projects in Denmark that create opportunities and empower children, adults and families who find themselves socially isolated or excluded from society. The Crown Princess was selected as a Young Global Leader in 2012 by the World Economic Forum.

Ms. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, works with her parents, President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, to drive the vision and work of the Clinton Foundation. Ms. Clinton focuses especially on the Foundation's health programs, including the Clinton Health Access Initiative, which strengthens health care and access to lifesaving services in the developing world; the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, which fights childhood obesity in the United States; and the Clinton Health Matters Initiative, which addresses preventable disease in the United States. She also established – and continues to lead – the Clinton Foundation Day of Action program.

The Crown Princess and Ms. Clinton have met previously, when they both attended the Women Deliver conference in Kuala Lumpur in May 2013.

Isn't it phantastic that Princess Mary emulates such strong women, and important causes.

And as much as I love the colour green I would have chosen another dress. This dark green fabric is already patterned, and the animal print shoes is a bit much in this combination for me.

Pattern on Pattern can work great - but it has to be the right pattern combo, otherwise it looks a bit clownish, IMO. That's why I chose a similar dress, but this one is very simple and elegant. Just the right one for such wild things on our feet.

Mary attended the premiere of the documentary "You do not say NO to Asger!"

Anna Von Lowsow is the director of the documentary film 'You do not say no to Asger!" which premiered on 25 February at the National Art Gallery in Copenhagen.

The premiere is a documentary on the occasion of Asger Jorn's 100th anniversary at Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen.

The exhibition is about Asger Jorn - A Restless Rebel - where the audience will have the opportunity to see a wide range of Jorn's key works in conjunction with several rarely exhibited works from private collections.

Asger Jorn's story is told in the documentary of the people who knew him. Among these is the son Troels Jorn, artist Bodil Kaalund, Marc Richez and the Italian potter Giovanni Poggi. In the film appears private movie clips, letters, diaries and photos.

What a wonderful occasion to learn more about Denmark for Princess Mary.

Top/Skirt > we don't know the maker yet, but we'll find something comparable and less expensive for sure, since I'm sure they are both designer pieces.
